The function of the Supervisory Committee is perform independent oversight and account audits of the Credit Union throughout the year.  Many thanks to these volunteer committee people who give of their time and talent on behalf of the Credit Union and its members.  Your efforts are deeply appreciated.

The Supervisory Committee of SMEFCU is the committee that is responsible for performing audits of the credit union to ensure that proper procedures are in place and being followed by the credit union staff. 

Their duties include preparing, auditing different functions of the credit union, and submitting the results to the Board of Directors and the management of the credit union.  They also verify our member accounts at least every 2 years.  For this the committee asks the members to verify their bank statement to make sure the statement amounts are correct and agree with their balances.  If there is a discrepancy, they are asked to contact the supervisory committee.  This process is done to audit the credit union to make sure that procedures are being followed by the credit union staff. 

The Supervisory Committee is made up of volunteers that are members of the credit union.  If anyone is interested in becoming a member of the Supervisory Committee please contact the credit union.
